Allira Series™ of Equatorial Fork Mounted Telescopes
Telescope Accessory Mounting
Systems.
The Anssen Technologies Telescope Accessory Mounting Systems are designed to enable simple initial
mounting, quick release and easy balancing of accessories to the main telescope tube assembly. Accessories
such as finderscopes, widefield cameras and off axis counterweights can easily be fitted and removed.
The Mounting System consists of three main component groups:
Support Ring Assembly
The customer can choose any of three ring sizes available. The internal diameters measure 102mm,
134mm and 165mm. The sectional size and strength of the rings promotes extreme rigidity, even when
supporting long instruments with substantial over hang. Three oversized stainless steel setscrews with
positive feel locking knobs support the instrument being mounted.
The sliding base and locking assembly fitted to the ring enables positive clamping pressures to be applied.
The clamp is a full 40mm long (not point contact).
Intermediate Plate
Two types of Intermediate Plates are available:
The Intermediate Plates enable the Ring Assembly to be positioned accurately with respect to the parent
instrument. Each plate features large sectional area for rigidity and strength. Plate width is 60mm.
Baseplate
The Baseplate enables the Accessory System to be mounted to either an existing optical tube assembly, or a
telescope mount.
The design promotes simple drilling and modification to fit to the parent instrument. Measures 75mm width
by 200mm length. Positive clamping pressure along the entire length. Choice of large thumb knobs or Allen
screws depending on customer requirements.
