Anssen Technologies German Equatorial Mounting System - "Ellesa".

Counterweights.

  • Due to the number of choices available all counterweights will be offered as option.
  • The number of counterweights will depend on customer applications and requirements and are available in 3kg, 5.5kg and 9kg weights.
  • As a guide for most applications two 3kg, one 5.5kg and two 9kg counterweights will be more than ample.
Note! Due to the short overhang between the RA motor shroud and the counterweight shaft, only the 3kg counterweights can access the upper half of the counterweight shaft. The 5.5kg and the 9kg counterweights will collide with the RA motor shroud when the RA axis is moved if moved higher than the half way mark.
  • During the ordering procedure and prior shipment we will check with the customer as to their specific needs and the number of counterweights required.
  • The Ellesa TXL has a plain counterweight shaft 44.5mm diameter. The counterweights for the TXL have matching plain high density black nylon bushes. The Ellesa Observatory version has a threaded counterweight shaft 44.5mm diameter. The counterweights high density black nylon bushes internally threaded to suit the counterweight shaft.
  • All counterweights have locking screws to prevent slipping or rotation after setting. An optional hand lock screw is available.

The counterweights will be available in either:

  • steel which is painted in high gloss black two pack enamel, or
  • stainless steel Grade 316 with high quality natural machine finish.

All counterweights will be available with the purchase of the Ellesa, or at any time in the future as required.
