Telescope Piers.

The Anssen Ellesa piers are available in a variety of versions pending customer needs and requirements.

The Transportable Pier.
The Transportable Pier is intended for use in the field where a quick and simple set up is required whilst maintaining stability. The Transportable Piers are available in selected heights and made from steel tube 165mm outside diameter and 5mm wall thickness, with removable precision cast aluminium legs. The steel pier is sandblasted inside and outside, coated with an anti rusting agent and on the outside powdercoated satin black. The inside of the tube is painted with several coats of epoxy rust preventative paint. The cast aluminium legs are powdercoated satin black and feature large diameter lockable leveling hand wheels at the extreme ends of each leg. All fasteners are stainless steel Grade 304. Includes black nylon pads which are fitted underside of the leveling screws onto the ground. The piers are available in standard heights of: 600mm, 700mm, 800mm, 900mm, 1000mm and 1100mm. Large diameter holes exist in the top and bottom of the pier to permit cable routing through to the ground. The pier suits both the Ellesa TXL and Observatory. Please note that some minor imperfections may be seen in the steel pier after powdercoating.

Pier weight (tube only): 22kg (for 1100mm high)
Leg weight (each leg): 4.5kg
Leg length (each leg): 530mm.

Observatory Pier Series 165.
The Observatory Pier Series 165 is intended for light use in a permanent observatory situation. The Observatory Piers are available in selected heights and made from steel tube 165mm outside diameter, 5mm wall thickness and with a 12mm thick baseplate. The steel is sandblasted inside and outside, coated with an anti rusting agent and on the outside painted in gloss black two pack enamel. The inside of the tube is painted with several coats of epoxy rust preventative paint. The pier baseplate is slotted to permit +/-5 degrees movement. The fine azimuth adjustment bracket is supplied with the pier. The piers are available in standard heights of: 600mm, 700mm, 800mm, 900mm, 1000mm and 1100mm. Large diameter holes exist in the top and bottom flanges to permit cable routing through to the observatory floor. The pier suits both the Observatory and Transportable verions of the Ellesa.

Observatory Pier Series 273.
The Observatory Pier Series 273 is intended for heavy use in a permanent observatory situation. The Observatory Piers are available in selected heights and made from steel tube 273mm outside diameter, 5mm wall thickness and with a 20mm thick baseplate. The piers are available in standard heights of: 600mm, 700mm, 800mm, 900mm, 1000mm, 1100mm, 1300mm and 1500mm. Large diameter holes exist in the top and bottom flanges to permit cable routing through to the observatory floor. The pier suits both the Observatory and Transportable verions of the Ellesa.
